WORKSHOP: THE HIDDEN EMOTIONAL JOURNEY OF MIGRATION with SHAZIA MARIAM

Workshop about the hidden emotional journey of migration held by Shazia Mariam, open to all residents of Oñati and the surrounding area.

This workshop offers an honest and reflective space to explore the personal journey of immigration and adaptation through lived experience. Drawing from her own story, Shazia will share the emotional and psychological challenges she encountered, including the mental pressures, fears, and insecurities that often accompany starting over in a new environment. 

Through storytelling and guided reflection, participants will be invited to connect with these themes, recognize shared struggles, and develop a deeper understanding of resilience, identity, and belonging. The session aims to foster empathy, normalize difficult emotions, and create a supportive dialogue around the often-unspoken aspects of migration and personal transformation.

Shazia is from Pakistan, from the highest mountains of the world K2 in Baltistan, and holds double master´s degrees in Business Administration as well as Gender and Women Studies. Her journey has always been rooted to the development sector, where she has exclusive experience in rural development, social growth and the empowerment of women and youth. Shazia is deeply interested in contributing a role to make this world a better place for everyone.

The workshop will take place on Thursday, April 16, at 7:00 p.m., in Eltzia (Oñati), at Sorginerreka room. (We will meet in Topagunea and go together to the room.)
